Hello Fellow DeKalb County Republicans,
The Georgia Governor’s race is heating up with David Perdue entering the race and receiving President Trump’s endorsement. Polling is showing that Governor Brian Kemp and David Perdue are in a dead heat with Vernon Jones in a distant third with Kandiss Taylor being in fourth place. Eighteen percent of Republicans are undecided. In the weeks and months to come, there will be a lot of fodder, outrage, debate, knife fighting and downright nastiness in Georgia. Just remember that “We the People” should pick the most electable candidate to run in the general election and who best represents us. It certainly should not be the political party nor is any elected official entitled to stay indefinitely in their office.

While unprecedented, Georgia’s Republicans will have a choice at the ballot box in May of 2022. As your DeKalb GOP Chairman, I strongly recommend that you choose wisely and make sure you vote from the top of the ballot downwards. Skipping races like not voting for your next governor is still voting for Stacey Abrams.
Many people skipped the Presidential race in November 2020 whereas Senator David Perdue received more votes than President Donald Trump. Staying home is also voting blue and is one of the many reasons why we have Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock as Senators. Comparing Election Day 2020 to the January 5, 2021 runoffs, there was a massive dip in Republican voter turnout. Some 500,000 Georgia voters decided to stay home with Republican districts seeing the bigger declines in turnout. DeKalb County was no different with 5,000 Republicans of our 101,000 Republicans stayed home. Jon Ossoff beat Republican incumbent Sen. David Perdue by 55,354 votes. Raphael Warnock was elected and won by 93,659 votes against Kelly Loeffler. Imagine what our country would be like now if just half of those Georgia Republicans came back out this past January.
It is time to move forward as we have a Red Wave to ride. We are working hard to restore FITness- Faith, Integrity and Trust in our elections. Remember that every legal vote counts and voting is your most sacred right as American. Together we will #VoteDeKalbRed and #KeepGeorgiaRed.
Finally, I hope to see all of you on Saturday, December 11th at the DeKalb GOP Holiday Party Breakfast. We have an all-star line-up of speakers to include U.S. Senate Candidate Kelvin King, Mayor Frank Auman, Commissioner Fitz Johnson, State School Superintendent Candidate Dr. John Barge and our Jan Appling singing the Star-Spangled Banner! We also have Sgt. Albert Riveria of the Marines Toys for Tots coming. So bring lots of toys and your holiday spirit. Thank you!
With Best Regards,
