Happy Birthday to the Greatest Nation the World has ever known!!!!!

246 years ago, on July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence, forever changing the course of the Colonies and establishing the framework for what would become the United States of America.  The Declaration of Independence has been the bedrock of our country – from the original 13 Colonies to our current 50 States, a federal district – Washington, D.C., five major territories, and various minor islands.

In 1774 the Colonists had reached a breaking point with the Tyrannical overreach of the Monarchy.  They held the First Continental Congress and issued the Declaration and Resolves. By 1775 the American Revolution was afoot – the Second Continental Congress had met in Philadelphia and by June 15th – George Washington was named Commander-in Chief of the Revolutionary Army.  In 1776, Congress met and drafted the Declaration of Independence, one of the most notable sentences ever written was:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.” 

The preamble sought to inspire and unite the Colonists through the vision of a better life and to rid themselves of a tyrannical and an intolerable government. These stirring words were also designed to convince those that were seeking independence to put their lives on the line for the cause. Through the bravery, vision, persistence, and sacrifices of 56 men from a cross-section of society, 13 Colonies severed their political connections with Great Britain and declared themselves to be the United States of America. A new nation was born.

As a Nation, on July 4th, we all stop to celebrate, honor, and recognize the sacrifices made by our forefathers from the American Revolution that fought for Independence from a tyrannical Crown to provide future generations with the FREEDOM we all enjoy today.

I hope that we all take a few minutes this holiday weekend to reflect upon what it means to live in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.  To celebrate and express gratitude for all of those who have come before us – fighting to protect our FREEDOM.  A freedom that inspires millions of people around the world to fight for their own FREEDOM.

The freedom we enjoy as Americans is defined by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.  Over the past couple of decades, we have all watched our rights slowly being chipped away by a variety of sources – Federal Agencies creating law, without constitutional authority to do so. Judges legislating from the bench, instead of ruling on cases using the framework of the Constitution as it was designed by our Founding Fathers, amendments passed by Congress and ratified by the states or laws written and passed by Congress.

While many Republicans were on the fence of voting for President Trump in 2016, the one overwhelming promise from then candidate Trump was to nominate Constitutional Conservative Judges to the courts.  Obama left over 200 Federal Judge appointments open when he departed office, along with one Supreme Court nominee.  President Trump quickly began fulfilling his promise to nominate Constitutional Conservative Judges to the courts – from the Supreme Court to the Circuits.  During his tenure as President, he appointed and confirmed more Federal Judges than any other President in history.  He also nominated 3 Supreme Court Justices – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett all Constitutional Conservative Justices – all confirmed to the bench.  President Trump’s nominations to the Supreme Court resulted in a Conservative majority.  His nominations will impact our country’s future for decades to come.

We are already witnessing the power of those nominations and the bedrock of the Constitution being reinforced as the 2021/2022 Supreme Court Calendar ended on June 30th.  While much of the mainstream media and the Left would like you to believe the Court set woman back to the dark ages with their ruling on Roe v. Wade, they simply undid a flawed ruling, where the Court attempted to create legislation from the Bench.  A job that solely belongs to Congress, not the Courts, and they had 50 years to make this law.

What the Mainstream Media and the Left really missed was one of the last rulings issued by the Supreme Court on June 30thWest Virginia vs EPA.  Within this ruling, the Supreme Court stated that Federal Agencies, like the EPA, lack authority in creating law to enforce upon the people.  That only Congress can create the laws to be enforced upon the people, not a Federal Agency.  This ruling re-enforces the bedrock of the founding of America and our Constitution – to limit a tyrannical government.

After decades of our Country being adrift from its founding principles, we are finally fighting back and winning – changing course and heading back to the constitutional bedrock of this Great Nation that provide its’ citizens with the ability to pursue Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

It is even more important that we maintain this fight in the coming months on a State and Local level.  We must take back our U.S. Senate Seat and elect our Georgia Republican Constitutional Officers.  In DeKalb County, we have 15 State House and 3 State Senate Candidates on the ballot this November.  We must all come out and #VoteDeKalbRed and VOTE Georgia REDThis November let’s Get Fired Up for Freedom and VOTE RED to Save America!

While we all enjoy the BBQs, Concerts, Fireworks and Parades this 4th of July, let’s also pause and remember how we achieved our Independence as a Country.  We must all continue to fight for our founding principles to ensure the United States of America is the greatest force of freedom the world has ever known.
