We hope Americans celebrating Christmas this weekend will enjoy a day of festivities and a renewed closeness with family and friends. It is a time for remembering the past and hoping for the future.  Let this be a time to count our blessings, a time of reflection and giving as well as being with family and friends.

As we celebrate our own family traditions, kindly take a few moments to remember the men and women who are protecting our freedoms both near and far but cannot be with their own spouses, children, parents, and siblings today. We express the deepest gratitude for their service not just on Christmas, but the whole year round.

Let us also extend our compassion to those that are amongst us who are less fortunate. Many on this day are without hope and are in need the kindness of those around them.  Probably, even more so with the high inflation, abandonment of law and order, the invasion of our Southern Border as well as hypocrisy of the Democrats while stealing our freedoms.  May your prayers include that we will rise to meet the material, emotional, and spiritual needs of those all around us.

As you spend time with loved ones over these next few days and regardless of your differences, remember the things that make our country the greatest of all countries.  Let us also remember that America is still a beacon of hope for many around the world.  Think of it like Rudolph’s luminous red nose who guided Santa’s sleigh and reindeer team through a harsh winter night.  With the Republicans taking back the majority in U.S. House of Representatives and in Georgia reelecting Governor Kemp and our Constitutional Officers while retaining the majority in the General Assembly, I am hopeful that we are on the right path to have America lead from the front again.

During this time of faith and family, may the true meaning of Christmas fill you with joy. Please take extra precaution to keep yourself, your family and pets warm during this record cold wave of weather.  On behalf of The DeKalb County Republican Party, wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Warmest Regards,

Marci McCarthy, Chairman
