Happy Birthday to the Greatest Nation the World! This is America’s Pride Month and the Celebration of Freedom!
247 years ago, on July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence. Forever changing the course of the Colonies and establishing the framework for what would become the United States of America. The Declaration of Independence has been the bedrock of our country – from the original 13 Colonies to our current 50 States, a federal district – Washington, D.C., five major territories, and various minor islands.
As a Nation, on July 4th, we all stop to celebrate, honor, and recognize the sacrifices made by our forefathers from the American Revolution that fought for Independence from a tyrannical Crown to provide future generations with the FREEDOM we all enjoy today.
While many Republicans were on the fence of voting for President Trump in 2016, the one overwhelming promise from then candidate Trump was to nominate Constitutional Conservative Judges to the courts. Obama left over 200 Federal Judge appointments open when he departed office, along with one Supreme Court nominee. President Trump quickly began fulfilling his promise to nominate Constitutional Conservative Judges to the courts – from the Supreme Court to the Circuits. During his tenure as President, he appointed and confirmed more Federal Judges than any other President in history. He also nominated three Supreme Court Justices – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett all Constitutional Conservative Justices – all confirmed to the bench. President Trump’s nominations to the Supreme Court resulted in a Conservative majority. We are once again witnessing the power of those nominations and the bedrock of the Constitution being reinforced with landmark Supreme Court cases being decided last week. Victories in the areas of affirmative action, religious discrimination, and overreaching debt forgiveness are historic in nature. In case after case, constitutionalist Supreme Court Justices are delivering for ALL by steering a judicial course set by the Constitution while guided by deference to the clear and unambiguous meaning of constitutional and statutory law.
After decades of our Country being adrift from its founding principles, we are fighting back and winning – changing course and heading back to the constitutional bedrock of this Great Nation that provide its’ citizens with the ability to pursue Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. This is a solid wake-up call that elections truly impact every aspect of our daily lives, whether we realize it or not.
While we all enjoy the BBQs, the beach, concerts, fireworks and parades this 4th of July, let’s also pause and remember how we achieved our independence as a country and what it means to live in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. A freedom that inspires millions of people around the world to fight for their own FREEDOM.
