Statement from the DeKalb GOP on the Attempted Assassination of President Trump

Today, we stand in shock and outrage at the news of an attempted assassination on President Donald J. Trump. Our hearts go out to President Trump, the victims, and their families as they endure this appalling act of violence.

The DeKalb GOP unequivocally condemns this heinous and cowardly attack. Such acts of terror have no place in our society and must be met with the full force of justice. We demand a swift and thorough investigation to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice and held accountable for their actions.

We express our deepest gratitude to the Secret Service and law enforcement agencies who demonstrated exceptional bravery and professionalism in protecting President Trump and others involved. Their quick and decisive actions saved lives and exemplified the highest standards of duty and honor.

We also offer our prayers and support for our delegates, alternates, and guests who are at the Republican National Convention this week. We stand with you in solidarity and strength during this challenging time.

In these times of trial, we must reaffirm our commitment to the principles of democracy and the rule of law. Violence is never a solution to political differences. We call on all Americans to come together in unity, rejecting violence and upholding the values that unite us as a nation.

May God bless President Trump, the victims, and all who serve tirelessly to protect our country. We stand resolute in our support for justice, peace, and the continued strength of our democratic institutions.
